Hello!

A blog is something that we’ve been intending to add to the site since its inception and with this latest website redesign it’s here and ready. With most of our communication happening through Twitter, it’s nice to have a long-form way of making announcements about the site and the business in general. For any of our Twitter regulars you’ll know that we try and be helpful sorts, so expect content here helping out anyone who is looking to become a football shirt collector. Expect tips on how to spot fakes with dedicated posts for Adidas football shirts, plus more general tips on Nike, Puma, Kappa and New Balance football shirts. We’ll also be looking specifically at vintage shirts, giving tips on the things you can look for to help spot genuine shirts. We’ll be sharing tips on how to look after your shirts and a few anecdotes about our own collections and what we love to collect!

The history of Football Kit Market

If you're not familiar with the story behind Football Kit Market, it's a family business founded by Alan March during the peak of the COVID pandemic in October 2020. Since the beginning, Alan's sister Lauren has managed all site logistics, and her partner Andrew (ie. Me, the author of this blog post) joined soon after. I started by working on the website and editing stock images, but now I'm involved in all aspects of the business, from updating the site, handling the stock and handling customer service!

We’ve sold some absolutely fantastic shirts since we launched. I’ve included a few favourites in the image at the top of the post! 

Football Kit Market Mailing List

This blog aims to be a permanent resource of information about our site, but we also want to improve our week-to-week communication. If you're signed up for our mailing list for the first time you can start to expect weekly updates. These emails will cover the football shirts we've added to the site in the previous week, news items, and even a sneak peek at the fantastic vintage football shirts that will become available soon. It’ll also be where people first here about sale events and keep an eye out for exclusive discount codes too!
